I’ve been running for about 8 years now, and had always progressively got better and better, hitting personal best times regularly, until I hit a plateau. For 5 years, my times remained the same, going backwards slightly (even with more training) in some cases, until I enlisted the help and support of Lee.

 
Lee’s personalised, tailored to suit the needs to his clients, plan, strategically pushed me towards shaving 3 minutes off my marathon personal best time which now stands at 2:46. Working with Lee was a genuine pleasure and a privilege. I have been running at a high level for a long time, and have been fortunate to work with some brilliant coaches, but it was under Lee’s coaching that I achieved my fastest ever 10K time of 32:24, a time I didn’t even think I was capable of at the time.

 

The plan and sessions he provided were always backed by his evidence-based philosophy and were personally tailored to my goals, strengths, and fitness and to prevent my propensity for specific injuries. It was unlike anything I had previously experienced, however I had complete trust in the process. Lee was able to support me by building a personalised training plan, which enabled me to enjoy training, the process and the journey! I gained fitness faster than I ever have before in my career and was able to sustain it for a longer period.

 

He was always available to answer any and all questions I had about my plan, always ready to adapt it based on any niggles I acquired. He helped me believe in myself as a runner and trust the science behind his choices. I feel deeply fortunate that I chose to work with him, and he has gained my trust as my coach forever.

As a novice runner, Lee was able to explain his training programme to me in a way that helped me recognise the merit of a methodical process that would ultimately be successful. The attention to detail, the responsive planning and the care and encouragement Lee puts into his work are exceptional. Even before starting the training plan, Lee advised me on the kit to purchase and created a schedule that fits in with my rather busy day-to-day life. 


The result has been a steady progression from being unable to run more than a minute to reaching 10k. Lee understands novice runners and has been there when things haven’t gone as well as I would have hoped. He encourages me at every stage, his way of planning my runs via the use of Final Surge allows me to track my progress and understand the journey to my next goal.

For anyone out there wondering what they can achieve with their running or anyone thinking I wonder if I could be good at running then working with Lee will unlock potential that will take you beyond what you thought you could.

 

When I first started training, I was running 5km at around about 23 minutes. When Lee asked what I wanted to accomplish I replied “I’d be ecstatic if I could get something close to 20 minutes for 5km. Lee confidently responded with “I’ll take you past that”.

 

I started my training plan by committing to following the sessions 100% and it was tough! I push myself to a level that sometimes hurts after sessions but the motivation to keep going was down to the fact that firstly, the results were coming and I could see improvements and secondly, Lee is such an unbelievable coach, mentor and inspiration that you end up wanting to do it for him as much as yourself. The level of personal care is of a level that is way more than you would expect from a coach. He shares your journey with you and nothing is ever too much trouble, whether it’s reassurance that you’re on the right track or a niggling injury that you need advice or support with.

Lee’s program works. It is as simple as that. He helped me prepare for and run my first marathon at the tender age of 54. I originally targeted a finish time of 4hrs, which I felt was ambitious but realistic.


In preparation, as part of the program, I was running 10kms and half marathons as a means of checking my progress. The turning point for me came 1 and a half months before the big race. I ran a half and managed to average under 5mins a kilometre which for me was special.

 
I noticed that I could now run with strength and confidence and that I could push my body and mind and I could stand up to the challenge.
Lee’s program gave me a quiet confidence. I began to really believe in his coaching, in his approach.

 
From the get go, about 2 or 3 weeks into the program I was doing long runs on the weekend and enjoying it!
I got proper into it. He had tapped into something within me. I was a ‘good student’. I did all the runs on the program to the letter, over a 20 week period.


I amazed myself. My marathon time was 3hrs 38 mins.
The coaching brought out my inner strength. The program made me sharp and tuned.

Training with Lee has completely transformed my running experience. I improved my personal best time for a half marathon by 16 minutes, while also achieving new personal records over 5km and 10km distances too. The structured training and expert guidance I received were absolutely exceptional. The ongoing feedback has also kept me motivated. Lee’s meticulous planning was especially helpful for race days.
